Once you've made the important decision to proceed with Ascend Credit Services, you will be given a welcome packet containing more helpful information. Included with your packet will be a powerful resource to build your credit, a book explaining how credit works and how to build great credit.
A representative will then be assigned to your specific file in order to better assist you in the credit repair process. You will be given a username and password that will access the member services on the Ascend Credit Services web site.
Our legal team will then draft customized letters disputing negative items on your credit. Once the FIRST ROUND OF LETTERS is created your job will be as follows:
- Download the letters from our web site.
- Print the letters.
- Sign the letters and hand address the envelopes IN BLUE INK.
- Address envelopes with address in upper left corner of each letter.
- Mail the letters. Each letter should be in a separate envelope.
This technique is a very powerful difference between us and many other credit repair companies. The Fair Credit Reporting Act states that if a credit repair company sends a letter on your behalf, the credit bureaus can ignore it. Most companies are so worried about you learning their process of "repair" that they would rather your credit not get fixed than show you what they do. This is why we only charge a reasonable fee for the service we perform. We believe most customers would prefer to pay a reasonable fee for a good service developed by professionals than try to steal our copyrighted material and figure it out for themselves.
- Once the letters have been mailed out, just sit back, relax, and collect the responses.
- After approximately 40 DAYS from the mail-out date (30 days plus time for the mail), your personal representative at ACS will contact you with a friendly reminder that it is time to mail in all the responses you have received from the credit bureaus.
- Once your responses have been received, your personal representative will enter the responses into our software, automatically updating the current status and creating the next round of letters, if necessary.
If all the disputed items have not yet been removed, our Credit Specialists will draft a second round of letters based on the responses. These letters may be to the credit bureaus, or they may be to the original creditor, depending on the responses received.
You will then be prompted to log in to download your letters, print, sign, and mail them just as outlined above. Again the recipients will have 30 days to respond from the date the received the letter.
The number of letters utilized for your process will vary based on the responses we get back, but rest assured, when we are done you will have exhausted every effective and legal repair approach. We go beyond the credit bureaus, challenging the original creditor and forcing them to prove you authorized the debt in question, as is allowable in the Fair Debt Collection Act. All too often, disputed credit items cannot be verified or in many instances the creditor will not respond to our dispute due to our approach and the negative item will then be removed. We will continue to work with you through the entire process, and once complete, give you the tools and knowledge you need to build better credit for life!
